Last Friday saw the u16 ladies footballers play host to Rostrevor at the picturesque Bann Road. The town girls dominated the first half but failed to capitalise with chances missed, coming in at half time leading by only 6points. With no subs available the girls knew they would have to work twice as hard in the second half. After a nervy start to the second half with Rostrevor scoring a goal, the girls settled and started playing with the determination they are becoming known for. Each player battled hard for every ball and pulled together in what became a very tense second half. The town young ladies came out victories by 2 points, although this could have been much more. Final score 3-10 to 4-5. There is now a break in matches which gives the u16s a chance to rest and focus on training.
Minor ladies footballers play Bright away tonight (Wednesday) on their first outing in the league. Good luck girls
