*It is soon time for Sinsear Scór, the GAA competition that combines all the colour and rivalry of Gaelic Games with the social/fun element of Ireland’s traditional past-times. The aim is to promote Ireland’s traditional pastimes and culture while offering club members the chance to meet up, have fun and represent their club during the winter months while Football, Hurling and Camogie has ceased for the season. There are eight events/disciplines in Scór that cover all aspects of Irish culture: Figure/Céilí Dancing, Solo Singing, Instrumental Music, Recitation/Scéalaíocht, Ballad Group, Drama, Question Time and Set Dancing. The competition is for those over 17 years old. We wish to enter teams in this winter’s competition and there is a lot of capable talent in the town – do you wish to represent your club? *Greasy is back by popular demand and will be performed in the Club on Saturday 19 December 2015. The rumour mill has been doing the rounds since our two wonderful productions in October. Those that were lucky enough to have seen the shows will confirm that it was quite simply outstanding. We are aware that a lot of people weren’t able to attend the two shows and we have had numerous requests to put on a further production. We are now happy to confirm, that due to that demand and an outcry from our members, “GREASY IS BACK”. Don’t let your Christmas parties get in the way – plan your party around a truly outstanding and enjoyable night. There will also be music in the club after the production. Tickets will be on sale shortly – so watch this column for further detail. Get your tickets early, because this time, when they’re gone they’re gone.
*Finally, congratulations to Deborah Croskery on being named Division 2 Camogie Player of the Year for 2015 at an awards ceremony in Castlewellan recently. It is a wonderful accolade for Deborah who always leads by example on and off the field of play and is a real role model for the younger players around her. Well done Deborah!
